Now this really is a terrific location, the water in front, the forest behind, and the long stretch of sandy beach in between. Boats and canoes to hire and tuition available at the Loch Morlich Beach which has a café with home-baking.
The background woods of Loch Morlich have miles and miles of off-road walking and biking tracks and you can cycle from Glenmore back home to the Cairngorms Lodge – your home for your holiday. Also nearby is the incredibly special Loch - an – Eilean, which was voted the most popular picnic spot in the UK and is the setting of a major Easter Egg hunt. The loch is surrounded by magnificent Scots Pine whose huge trunks glow deep umber hues in the late afternoon sun. And now the popular trend for wild swimming has hit the sleepy shores of this beautiful loch with its ancient ruined castle island.
And best of all, its local to the Cairngorms Lodge!
Catch the wind on Loch Insh. Another fabulous watersports centre which enjoys the most spectacular setting. Canoeing available from here back to Aviemore. If you're not actually taking part in the action you can sit on the sunny terrace and enjoy a drink watching the sailing and surfing fun.
